Who is Annie?
Passionate about sewing as a means to free women from fast fashion, and feeling better about themselves, Annie started sewing as a child when she discovered a bag of fabric in the family utility room.
With a lifetime of mental health struggles including eating disorders, Annie created Stitch Social to pave the way for a new community of sewists to find fashion freedom and develop a better relationship with their bodies as they do.

I started Annie’s beginners course long before the Secret Sewing Club was a thing, to learn properly after years of winging it! It was informative, boosted my confidence, and the weekly Zoom calls meeting others were a highlight.
I then moved on to the Skills Builder, where I made a dress using multiple techniques—this is where my real journey began! After missing the sociable Zoom calls, I joined Annie’s Sewing with Stretch course, which was my favourite, and now I'm a happy member of the Secret Sewing Club!

Annie's courses are broken down into small chunks of bite sized content. These are fantastically clear, easy to follow and detailed, but in a very simple format. They also explain why it is important to master key skills and techniques.
Annie is so passionate about the Academy, keen to teach and enthusiastic about sewing. She is kind, lovely and helpful, and is on a mission to share these skills, especially so women can make their own garments that suit and fit them beautifully, rather than becoming frustrated and disheartened with off the peg fashion.
